On the 16th of July the 4th edition of the fundraising event “Fiets voor een Huis/Loop voor een Huis” took place. This event is jointly organized by “Wereldfoundation” and “Woord en Daad”, the founding shareholders of IHS.

This year 207 people climbed the Col du Galibier in France, which has an altitude of 2646 meters (8679 feet). The event raises money to build houses for people in Bangladesh. Some people climbed the mountain on foot and others climbed the mountain by bike. A total of 302.642€ was collected by this year’s “Fiets voor een Huis/Loop voor een Huis”. By this amount, IHS will build another 303 sturdy houses which can withstand the natural calamities in Bangladesh. This will help a lot of families to improve their living conditions and to increase their chances in live.

This was already the 4th time that the event “Fiets voor een Huis/Loop voor een Huis” took place. Over 50 volunteers helped to make it a success. With these 4 editions enough money has been raised to build a total of 1500 houses in Bangladesh.

Gerald Holtvlüwer, The founder of Wereldfoundation commented on the event saying: ‘I think it is awesome that so many people are selflessly committing to this event to make sure that the event can be a success every year. Together we ensure a new home for many families in Bangladesh. On 9th September 2017, the 5th Anniversary of “Fiets voor een Huis/Loop voor een Huis” will take place in France. We are already looking forward to it!’
